Human CSLB packet desk
A human contractor who drafts filled packets for other California contractors.
Estimates and CSLB-oriented contracts under your license. You bring the job and the numbers. We run the paperwork desk. About 48 hours after you pay.
Contractor for contractors. Not a software shop. Not a blank download. Not a lawyer. Not an AI rewrite.

Who it’s for
Busy California trade and small residential contractors who already know the price and hate paperwork.
You are licensed. You priced the job. You do not want a $35 blank form, a full takeoff shop, or a lawyer on every paint and fence job. You want someone who has lived the same week you have.
What you get
A per-job packet drafted for you:
- Estimate, contract, change order, or estimate + contract
- Your legal name and your CSLB on the page
- Scope, money, dates, and notices shaped from your intake
- PDF delivery after payment
You stay the contractor of record. Hagey Trade Docs is the drafting desk.

How it works

- Intake — Answer the job questions (about 10–15 minutes).
- Pay to start — Watch your email for confirmation and a payment link.
- Packet in ~48 hours — Turnaround starts after you pay.
Hard nos stay hard: California residential only. No public works. No out-of-state. We draft for you; we do not act as your contractor.
Why a contractor (not AI, not blanks)
AI can polish notes. Blank forms leave the hard part on you. Software shops do not sit in the middle of a real CA residential week.
What still needs a human desk that knows the trade:
- Filling a CSLB-oriented packet for this job
- Cancel windows, insurance/WC notices, down-payment caps, progress-payment language
- Kill switches when the job is outside what we will paper
We organize what you told us. We do not invent your takeoff or your price.
Who drafts it
Dan Hagey runs Hagey Trade Docs.
He has fully managed a successful California construction company end to end: first call through final payment. Day-to-day that means estimates, contracts, change orders, crew scheduling, materials, customer updates, invoicing, and chasing payments that do not show up on their own.
His company does specialty residential work (wildlife exclusion and roofing repair). When a process was missing, he built it: standardized forms and reporting, warranty tracking, and a custom job-management app because off-the-shelf tools did not fit the trade. Under his management the sold-work target and crew both scaled up with the workload.
He drafts CSLB-oriented packets for other licensed contractors and puts their license on the page, not his shop as the GC.
Plain English. Trade-aware. No attorney cosplay.
What we are not
| Not this | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| AI rewrite / “professionalize your notes” | Different product (Joist-class). We fill a packet. |
| Takeoff / bid quantities from plans | You supply the numbers. |
| Lawyer or legal advice | See the disclaimer. Novel or high-risk jobs need your own attorney. |
| Blank form store | We draft per job, not a shelf of empties. |
| License school | We do not get you licensed. |
| Faceless software shop | A contractor runs this desk. |
Samples Coming later
Slot for redacted estimate / contract examples. Until then, the intake and disclaimer show how the desk works.
